The authors of the book are Reid Hoffman, the founder of Linkedin, and Chris Yea, investor and author. The book is already a blockbuster and a classic coming from the Silicon Valley which everyone in business needs to read. It is about fast growth and how to make companies scalable.

Akademias is offering in collaboration with Blitzscaling Venture the course Leader in Growth and Value Creation with Blitzscaling. Cyris Yea, the co-author of the book Blitzscaling, is the lead instructor with other specialist in fast growing organizations. This is an unique opportunity to learn how to make organizations into growth organizations and how to grow fast like a unicorn. The course is for all those who are involved in management, strategy, business development and marketing in organizations, as well as entrepreneurs.

There are 6 instructors with Chris Yea as a lead. The course facilitators are Dr. Eythor Ivar Jonsson and Jeffrey D. Abbott. Eythor is the president of Akademias and is a specialist in value creation and organization building. He has taught at several universities for the last 20 years and for more than 15 years at the MBA at Copenhagen Business School. Furthermore, he has helped hundreds of start-ups and scale-ups to create business models and growth strategies. Jeffrey is a venture capitalist and the creator of the Blitzscaling educational sprints which have been run with organizations all around the world.

The course Leader in Growth and Value Creation with Blitzscaling is focused on delveloping skills and knowledge, as well as methodology, for growing companies and creating value for customers.

The methodology is based on short group projects, presentations and conversations. The aim is to support development of comunication skills, proplem solving, critical thinking and opportunity recognition.

The course is in English and is hybrid, can be taken online or on location in Iceland.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

The course starts on 26th of October 2021 and runs on Tuesdays from 18:00 – 21:00 CET and Thursdays 18:00 – 21:00 for three weeks.

The course is both offered as an onsite course and an online course (directly on the web and as recordings) or as blended learning. The onsite teaching takes place in Borgartun 23, Reykjavik, Iceland.

The course is 18 hours, e.g. 6 modules, 3 hours each module.

Assessment: Group-projects in class and a final individual project based on participant own organization or interest (facilitated in class).
